Sharda S. Nash, MBA

The Sharda S. Nash Scholarship Fund is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt nonprofit organization established in 2023 by Sharda S. Nash. Sharda graduated in 2006 as Salutatorian from Saginaw High School located in Saginaw, MI. Her academic achievement awarded her the opportunity to receive many scholarships and to further her education by attending #thee Jackson State University.

These scholarships allowed her to be a successful student while alleviating the concern of how financial obligations would be met. The scholarships she received covered her tuition, room and board, out of state fees and book expenses. In 2010, Sharda graduated as Magna Cum Laude and received her B.B.A in Business Management. After several years in the workforce, Sharda returned to school and in 2014 Sharda received a M.B.A in Human Resource Management from Davenport University.

Sharda has over 15 years of experience in community relations and career development, accounts payable, conflict resolution, customer service and customer experience management, working with organizations such as The Michigan Department of Human Services, Great Lakes Bay Region Michigan Works, and DuPont/ Dow Chemical.

Our Story

Sharda’s lifelong respect for education and gratitude for the support her family received throughout her educational journey has motivated her to provide this same level of support to her Alumnus. Years later she would personally pick a student to help on their collegiate journey.

In 2020, Sharda donated $1,500 to her 1st recipient; a Saginaw High graduate also attending Jackson State University. Initially Sharda wanted to select a new student each year, but realized the need for students to receive consistent financial support and mentorship throughout program completion.

Many parents are in survival mode and don’t have access to the necessary resources to send their children to college. Sharda’s mother instilled in her the importance of education and keeping her grades up. Sharda graduated from her undergraduate program debt free. Without good grades and scholarship awards, this would not have been possible. Sharda believes that students can attend school and achieve more success academically without the worry associated with financial strain.
